I’m Lekha, the artist behind LekhArt. My journey with art began when I was a toddler, endlessly fascinated by the magic that could unfold from a few strokes of color and imagination. Over the years, I explored various art forms through numerous workshops, and that exploration led me to discover my true passion — Madhubani (Mithila) art, a traditional folk art of India known for its intricate patterns and mythological storytelling.
Through my work, I love creating pieces that narrate stories from Indian mythology, blending age-old traditions with my own creative expression. Whether it’s a painting, a handmade postcard, a greeting card, or a bookmark, each creation carries a piece of culture, emotion, and meditation within it.
For me, art is a form of meditation — especially Madhubani, where repetitive lines and patterns create a rhythm that soothes the mind and nourishes the soul. It’s this peaceful and mindful experience that I hope to share with others through my art and workshops.
Originally from India and now residing in South Carolina, USA, I aspire to bring the beauty of Indian folk art to a wider audience — connecting people through creativity, storytelling, and the joy of handmade art.
